Two-Tone-Pinks Live @ The
Pendlebury Feb 9th 2002
A big thank you to Steve,
Stuart, Craig and Tony for inviting The Pinks to play and making it such
a memorable night
For the first time in 22 years The
Two-Tone-Pinks took to the stage once again! The band
were invited by Fast Cars to play with them at the The Pendlebury. Both
bands played great sets to a packed house. Plus there were many old
friends from other bands from the late 70's who turned up making it a
great nostalgic event. Click on the right photo for the Mp3 page

At the age of 17 Phil
Rathbone joined The Pinks in Jan 1980 after the original drummer Pete
Bates left to join Fast Cars. Formally of the Manchester band The
Mediators he played his first gig with The Pinks at The Londoner
Barnsley. Raffy lived the mod lifestyle
throughout the late 70s and early 80s and would often turn up to gigs on
his scooter. After the band split in 1980 Raffy joined the army

Mark Harris Bass
Guitar Mark
Harris co-founder member of the band and prolific song writer. Mark
formally of Manchester band The Kutz wrote and co wrote many of the The
Pinks early songs most notably
Code Book, Eyes of the Dead,
Look but Don't Touch. Mark was also adept at devising
low cost ways to promote the band, fly posters and handmade
Two-Tone-Pinks stickers would appear all over Manchester in the
unlikeliest places and he would think nothing of bending the ears of
promoters and pub landlords to get the band a gig. Mark has been in many
bands since the band split and toured with the 60's band The Crying
Shames during the early 80's. |

Graham Briggs Guitar
Graham Briggs one of the original co-founder
members of the band in 1979. Graham formally of the Manchester new wave
band
Snyde
was Mr Reliable. He was always at rehearsals, never late for
gigs and never forgot the chords onstage. As well as playing rhythm
guitar Graham would also invent the little guitar hooks that made later
Pinks songs so commercial. During the The Pinks early period Graham
played a Fender Telecaster but later changed to playing a Gordon Smith
and which can be seen in the photo on the right. Graham is still playing
to this day and his latest project is forming a 1980's tribute band.

in a Day, and Panic Stricken. Haydn was the driving force of the band
and was the main organiser and often referred to by band members as

Dave Moore Guitar
Dave Moore a co-founder
member of the band and founder member of new wave band Snyde. Dave a
gifted and unique guitarist provided the band with some innovative
guitar riffs and rhythms. Dave and Graham would take the Mark and
Haydn's song ideas and turn them into mini classics. As far as the rest
of the band are concerned he remains a member of The Pinks. After
rehearsing with the band for the reunion gig Dave realised the reunion
gig clashed with his current bands gig diary and pulled out of the gig.
