You have discovered the homepage of the Two-Tone-Pinks one of Manchester's great undiscovered bands from the late 1970's. 25 years after the band was formed its amazing to find out from our friends in Fast Cars that there is a renewed interest in the Two-Tone-Pinks music from retro record collectors in the UK, Europe and Japan! To this day the Two-Tone-Pinks have been fairly obscure with very little known about the band's music or its history. Although during the late 70's the band was well known around the music venues of Manchester and Salford and played up and down the UK with many named bands of the time, such as The Vapors, The Ruts, The UK Subs, The Selecter, The Merton Parkas, The Killermeters and Fast Cars to name but a few. To be in a band closely involved in the Manchester music scene in the late 70's was an unforgettable experience as the band shared rehearsal rooms with bands like Joy Division, Fast Cars and A Certain Ratio. So to try and capture the spirit of 1979 the site contains previously unpublished photographs of the Two-Tone-Pinks. There is a Two-Tone-Pinks biog page dedicated to the bands history, a lost bands of Manchester page to give you an idea of what unsigned bands were playing around Manchester at the time. In the past 25 years there have been no official Two-Tone-Pinks record releases since Don't Lecture Me was issued on the now very collectable Sudden Surge of Sound compilation LP on VU Records VU001 in 1980. However the band hope to change that after the recent discovery of some old Two-Tone-Pinks master tapes recorded in Cargo Studios during 1979 and 1980. The band have now had the tape restored to mark the bands 25th anniversary and its been released on Detour Records as a CD album called Battered and Bruised. Track Listings include, Don't Lecture Me, Friends, Look But Don't Touch, Straight Swap, Code Book, Eyes Of The Dead, Crystal Clear. Original songs written and performed by Two-Tone Pinks during 1979 and 1980 and recorded at Cargo Studios and produced by Neil Ferguson of The Donkeys.
